Welcome to Much Nita Weaving. I'm Anita Lomas, a natural fibre weaver and basketmaker. I weave everything by hand, with plant fibres grown in my garden or in the local area, waiting until the end of the natural plant lifecycle before harvesting, drying and then weaving unique creations.

I love to combine contemporary styles with traditional basketry techniques, and to explore a variety of shapes, colour and texture to produce a of pieces which are both aesthetic and functional, showcasing their natural beauty.

My handwoven pieces use a variety of materials. I weave with dandelion stems, daffodils, daylily, iris and crocosmia leaves. All have considerable strength when woven together. When strength is key, more robust natural materials such as phormium flax leaves or willow bark are used. Larger baskets are handwoven using traditional basketry skills, and are all made with quality British grown willow.
