On this half day course, we will explore and learn how to twist common garden plant materials into usable natural cordage (2 ply string). We will work with several soft plant materials, discover thier various properties for you to come away with the skill to create your own strong cordage

Making cordage is an ancient practice that has many uses today. It can form mats, baskets or other crafted items or simply useful in the garden.

We will also share ideas on how to use your cordage for a more sustainable Christmas.

This course will take place at The Gardener's Bothy at Staunton Harold. Teas, coffee and biscuits will be provided.  All necessary tools will be provided. This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with some basketry weaving experience.
