Seasons’ Collection – Four Baskets, One Year in Nature

The Seasons’ Collection is a celebration of nature’s changing palette, expressed through four small handcrafted baskets. Each piece features the cool green of Iris sibirica leaves as its foundation, with a contrasting natural fibre woven in to reflect the mood and colour of the season it represents.

WINTER brings a sharp, crisp contrast with the clean white of sweetcorn husk, echoing snow-bright days and frosted landscapes.

SPRING softens into gentle brightness, where the soft yellow of dried daffodil leaves is woven among the iris leaves, mirroring the fresh optimism of the season.

SUMMER bursts into life with a bold, brash pink—palm raffia hand-dyed with homegrown damsons—adding vibrant energy and warmth.

AUTUMN closes the cycle with natural golden tones, as daylily leaves fade into warm, earthy hues that evoke the mellow retreat of the year.

Each basket is finished with a handsewn rim of willow bark, secured with waxed thread, grounding the collection in timeless craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of natural materials.

Together, these four baskets tell the story of the year—its shifting colours, textures and rhythms—captured in plant fibres grown, gathered and woven with care.

Daffodil Plait collection

Each basket in this collection showcases a distinctive technique in which the interior is lined with single sheets of willow bark, giving every piece a warm, organic foundation. Around these bark strips, fading green Iris sibirica leaves are meticulously handwoven to form the body of each basket, creating subtle shifts in tone and texture as the leaves naturally dry.

The true gems of these pieces are the five-strand plaits of silky yellow daffodil leaves. These delicate fibres are hand-plaited into long, slender ribbons before being carefully integrated into the weave, adding brightness, intricacy and a touch of refinement.

To complete each basket, a final plait—again crafted from daffodil leaves—is set into the rim and carefully sandwiched between lengths of willow bark. This edge is then hand-sewn in place using fine golden wire, adding strength, elegance and a subtle gleam that highlights the craftsmanship behind every detail.

A harmonious blend of bark, leaf and handwoven artistry, these baskets offer a truly unique expression of natural materials and skilled workmanship.
